Sleep Position Reveals Personality

Australian psychologists have identified a number of sleep positions that can determine the nature and personality of a person

According to the specialists, it is during sleep that a man is revealed at a subconscious level. Only four basic positions were previously known:
  • fetus position (curled-up manner, lying on the side), expressing the need for protection;
  • outstretched position (lying on stomach, with arms extended upward and straight legs), which is usually chosen by obliging, precise and focused people;
  • royal position (lying on the back, hands behind his head) expressing immense self confidence;
  • semi-fetus position (lying on the side with half-bent legs), which is usually chosen by sensible and even-tempered people.
Now, Australian psychologists have added a few more sleep positions to the list:
  • master’s position (lying on the stomach, gradually shifting in the middle of the bed, putting the pillow under himself) corresponds to a responsible and idealistic person, a good lover and a strong professional, steadily going up the career ladder);
  • support-seeker position (curled into a ball, like a cat) – it is usually chosen by a man unsure of himself, who needs a strong partner, a woman defender; this is a good man but a bad father; not a careerist;
  • balanced position (lying on the side, with their arms round a pillow or a loved woman) – reasonable and quiet man who very well knows what he wants from life, he is a good family man and a gentle lover; a good leader at work;
  • “Center of the Universe” position (lying on the side as close as possible to a partner face to face) – a non-amorous man, but who value home comfort and a woman-wife; not jealous; easily cheats; selfish lover, not a careerist;
  • uncompromising position (lying on the back, across the bed) – usually a one-woman man, wonderful family man, but dictatorial and tolerates no compromise; at work, this man is typically aimed primarily at financial well-being.

The world’s top 10 polluters, ranked by their absolute and per-capita greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, according to the International Energy Agency

No.1 China
The world’s biggest CO2 emitter.In November 2009 China announced that it will reduce its carbon intensity 40 to 45 percent by 2020.

No.2 United States

No.4 India
India announced that it will reduce its emission intensity by 20-25 percent by 2020 from the 2005 level. India’s emissions intensity is already lower than other emerging economies and had decreased 17.6 percent between 1990 and 2005.

 No.5 Japan
Japan, the world’s fifth-biggest greenhouse gas emitter, announced in June this year that it will target a cut in emissions by 15 percent by 2020 from 2005 levels. Japanese businesses argue that their factories are already among the world’s most energy-efficient and that the country will struggle to cut greenhouse gas emissions

No.6 Germany

No.7 Canada
The province of Alberta is Canada’s top polluter as of May 2007. The province, with 10% of Canada’s population, contributes 40% of climate-warming gases of the country. It is where seven of the top ten polluters of the country is located, including Syncrude and Suncor. Because half of all emissions in Canada are from industries, environmentalists target them instead of consumers.

In 2005, the country released 590 million tons of the greenhouse gases blamed for dangerously warming the globe.
If no action is taken to cut emissions, South Korea is expected to produce 813 million tons of greenhouse gases in 2020.

4 Ways to Maintain Eye Health When Using Eyeliner

Red eyes, damaged eyelids, dryness and irritation. Are you familiar with these feelings in your eyes after partying and heavy use of makeup? If so then here are tips to maintain your eye health despite using eye makeup.

Do not use an eyeliner with sparkles

Even if it is written on the package that the product is safe for the eyes, if an eyeliner contains shiny particles, then you should avoid such a product especially if you wear contact lenses. If micro particles of sparkles fall into your eyes and especially under the lens, they will irritate the cornea throughout the day. Just imagine! Therefore, if you want the effect of sparkles, then select the best blinking liner for the eyes.

Always keep your eye pencil sharpened

Of course it is much easier to draw with a round and soft end of the slate pencil, but the blunt end of a pencil means that you are closer to the tree, and it leads to scratching and irritation. In addition to damage to the cornea and eyelid, even the smallest particles of wood can cause allergic reactions.

How to use a liner in contact lenses

If you wear contact lenses, here is the procedure for using liners. First lens, and then – eyeliner and shadow. And be sure to first remove the lens in the evening, and then remove the makeup from the eyes!

How to prepare your kid for exams

'It's not always the people who start the smartest, that end up the smartest.' If you are a parent or a teacher, this statement could change the way you deal with your children forever. It will mean that rather than looking for short term gains (marks, scores, grades) you will start preparing your children for a brighter future. And this message is most important to remember when anxiety levels are rising and exams are round the corner. It is so easy to get lost in the rat race of 'this exam is going to determine your future'. The only thing that is going to determine your child's future is his/her mindset. And you play a big role in developing that.

Carol Dweck, from Stanford University, has proposed that it's not our grades that establish future success but whether we live our life with a 'growth' mindset or 'fixed' mindset. (Mindset, Ballantine, 2006). So a person with a fixed mindset would think that intelligence is fixed and that if children do not do well in their board exams then their lives are doomed. On the other hand, a person with a growth mindset would believe that intelligence is not fixed but grows through experience and learning and that exams are not a true judge of future success. The role models of growth mindset that come to my mind are Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Leo Tolstoy, Mahatma Gandhi and many more. All these men may not have had a brilliant academic start but nobody can doubt that they changed the world.

Keep the faith
How do you follow the path of the growth mindset? Here are some good clues:

  • Believe that no quality, trait, ability, intelligence or skill in us is fixed. All that is required is persistence, hard work and tenacity. Dweck's research has clearly indicated that children who are praised for their persistence (process feedback) are better primed for success than children who are praised just for their smartness (fixed feedback).
  • Reframe difficulties, mistakes, low scores, as part of the journey rather than see them as signs of failure. It does not mean that you are lowering the standard for your children, instead it means that you are coaching them to keep growing and not be scared of trying different options to optimise their potential for the rest of their lives
  • Motivate them to be committed to the process of learning and develop their mind and life at every step. Praise persistence and staying power, celebrate learning and curiosity, open their minds to seeing life as a way of experimenting and exploring, free them to take healthy risks and overcome challenges.
  • As a parent help children turn around their failures. Motivate them to be committed to learning rather than just getting scores. And for that you need to believe in it yourself. Remember, each child is wired and inspired differently. Some might do well in school, whereas there are many others who will only blossom much later when they are in college or when they start working.
  • The growth mindset is based on the belief that your skills, strengths and abilities can only be polished through effort and perseverance. The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (especially) when it's not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset. As Albert Einstein remarked, "It's not just that I am smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer."

20 Top Flirting Countries

A survey commissioned by Badoo.com with the intention to look into the world’s online flirting and compare the attitude of women in different societies came up with the conclusion that Spanish women take the cake when it comes to hooking men online.

The survey resulted in drawing the “World Flirtation League” with Spain firmly holding the top line of those picking up men surfing the web.
During a flirting season of three months the average Spanish woman hunter will initiate contacts with four men, leaving far behind British women whose prey comes to 2.3 contacts. The US women make an even poorer show with their 1.9 pickups. Consequently the UK occupies the 14th place (losing to as many as six of its European neighbors besides Spain) and the US drops to the 19th.
Other leaders competing with Spain for charming men on the web are Poland (2nd), the Dominican Republic (3rd), Italy (4th) and Argentina (5th). For those wishing to know the result for their country here is the remainder of the list:
  • Brazil – 6
  • Chile – 7
  • Portugal – 8
  • Canada – 9
  • Venezuela – 10
  • the Netherlands – 11
  • Germany – 12
  • Colombia – 13
  • the Czech Republic – 15
  • Mexico – 16
